Biography
Alberto Gago Fernández is currently the Director of the Office for Spain Digital 2030 and Internationalization at the Spanish Secretariat of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. In his current position, he is responsible for defining digital transformation strategies, deploying strategic projects, and representing the Secretariat of State in various international forums. He is also a member of the Presidency Council of the ESNA (European Startup Nation Alliance). Specializing in global and European digital affairs, artificial intelligence, and the data economy, he served as Strategy and International Relations Advisor to the Secretariat of State until 2024. During that time, he took part in the creation of the Gaia-X Hub Spain, the development of the Spanish AI Supervisory Agency, and the negotiation of the European Initiative for Technological Champions. Until 2020, he was Policy Officer at the Data Policy and Innovation Unit of DG CNECT of the European Commission. Finally, he holds several master’s degrees in European Law, Politics, and International Relations.Sessions
