Biography

Irene Martín is the Head of Research at the Norman Foster Institute (NFI) – an applied research centre co-directed by Norman Foster and Kent Larson. Under her direction, the NFI’s Centre for City Science and its interdisciplinary team of researchers work closely with city governments to develop tailored urban strategies that are both globally informed and impact-driven. As part of her role, she has led advisory initiatives for cities including Athens, Bilbao, and Cape Town, with research featured in Climate Action Plans and other strategic planning documents.
